The New England Association of Teachers of English promotes networking among English language arts teachers at the elementary, secondary, and college levels. NEATE is an affiliate of NCTE.

ABOUT NEATE

NEATE is governed by an Executive Board that serves for two years. Our current president is Carrie Salvato of Chenery Middle School in Massachusetts.

LEADERSHIP

Our members are teachers of English and Language Arts. NEATE represents a broad range of perspectives and provides a forum for sharing successes, concerns, and resources.

MEMBERS

NEATE awards teachers annually for excellence, and sponsors writing contests for students. The organization also sponsors scholarships to the annual conference for early career teachers.

The New England Association of Teachers of English holds an annual conference where teachers and administrators network and learn about new teaching resources and methods. Next conference: October 23-24, 2020 in Danvers, MA.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE

NEATE provides resources such as lesson plans, conference summaries, and bibliographies for teachers to share information and strategies with each other.
