NEATE
2008 New England Poet-of-the-Year Competition
NEATE’s Poet-of-the-Year Competition is open to all teachers of English/language arts who are members of NEATE or one of its state affiliates.  Only former Poets-of-the-Year are not eligible.  Finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges and will be invited to read their poetry at a reception in their honor at the annual NEATE Fall Conference in October 2008 when the Poet-of-the-Year will be announced.  Poems of the finalists will be published and distributed at the reception.

Guidelines

  1. Poets should submit five pages of unpublished, original poems.  Poems may be more than one page.
  2. All poems must be submitted in English.
  3. Each poem must be typed or word-processed, no electronic submissions accepted.
  4. Poems will not be returned; poets should retain copies of their work.
  5. Poets must include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE).
  6. Submit three copies of each poem; one with your name and address and two without.
  7. All entries must be postmarked no later than July 1, 2008.
